Extension runs the snapshot
Sync in the extension pulls the latest published configuration. The runtime validates the snapshot before activation.
Sync pulls the published rules. Pause all temporarily pauses browser activation.

Saving publishes the configuration to the server; it does not by itself change the browser. Open the extension, sync the latest snapshot, confirm that activation is not paused, then reload the controlled test page before diagnosing the matcher.
Pause without losing your rules
Extension Pause/Resume controls local activation. The mock proof overlay can pause a mock until reload; Undo restores it for that page session.
Recover a stale session
If the extension reports expired access, reconnect and sync. Check the runtime status before assuming a saved rule is active.
